SAFARI Montage, along with its EDC Partners, will demonstrate the most effective integration of K-12 educational-technology systems, components, content and software ever!

FREE, pre-conference, hands-on workshops will be held on Sunday, June 26th. In these three Bring Your Own Laptop sessions, educators will learn the skills needed to get the most out of SAFARI Montage in the classroom. Space is limited, so sign up today.

The EDC sessions will feature a dynamic group of education experts sharing their ideas and experience on effective ways to integrate technology into the lives of 21st-century students, both in the classroom and beyond. Featuring:

Shannon McClintock-Miller, Shorty Award winner, Teacher Librarian and Technology Specialist of Van Meter Community School District, Iowa, will demonstrate her success in getting students to embrace new technology literacies and connect to their global world through technology and available live digital resources in her engaging session, Expanding the Boundaries of Learning Beyond the Classroom Walls, on Tuesday, June 28th, 1:00 pm – 1:50 pm EDT.

In what the Chicago Tribune called “an inexpensive, flexible, cutting edge” learning environment that expanded the Chicago Public Schools program from 500 to 5,000 students, Robin Gonzales, former Director of Distance Education for CPS, current President of Zia Online Learning, and Online Teacher and Course Developer, will show how she leveraged online learning to increase graduation rates and expand learning options through the use of digital curriculum, media and web conferencing tools in her fascinating session, Digital Design: Building Your Own Virtual School, on Tuesday, June 28th, 9:45 am – 10:30 am EDT. Ms. Gonzales will be presenting a number of other engaging sessions in the EDC, which include, Strategies for the Effective Implementation of a Digital Curriculum, Boost Your Moodle Lessons in the Classroom With Digital Curriculum Presenter™, and Building Engaging Digital STEM Lessons With Multi-Modal Resources.

Also, Marty McGuire, Media Systems Manager of CPS, a leading technology innovator in K-12, will share their district’s success in saving millions of dollars by using interactive desktop videoconferencing in his exciting session, Use Live Interactive Videoconferencing to Deliver Cost-Effective Professional Development, on Tuesday, June 28th, 10:30 am – 11:20 am, EDT.

“SAFARI Montage is very focused on the interoperability of district and classroom technologies, always keeping in mind how to account for bandwidth restrictions. The best digital curriculum in the world becomes worthless when the bandwidth required to deliver it simply isn’t there. That’s why we’ve developed Digital Curriculum Presenter and showcasing it with several other technologies at ISTE in a model Effective Digital Classroom – to help school districts implement cost-effective and sound digital media solutions that integrate technology into instruction,” said Andrew Schlessinger, CEO and Co-Founder, SAFARI Montage.

These, and many other important sessions being held in the Effective Digital Classroom, should not be missed. For a full schedule of sessions, please visit our web site: www.safarimontage.com/iste2011edc/. You can also learn more at our Booth 409.
