The K-12 Open Interoperable Platform

SAFARI Montage

An Open Platform to Deliver a K-12 Digital Curriculum

SAFARI Montage provides K–12 school districts with a fully integrated Learning Object Repository, Digital Lesson Tools, Video Streaming Library and IPTV & Live Media Streaming, designed to handle video efficiently.

The SAFARI Montage approach to K–12 educational technology solutions is simple... it has to work. It has to work from a technical perspective with regard to bandwidth, devices and interoperability with other ed-tech systems. It has to work from an instructional perspective and be intuitive enough for anyone to use. It has to work from a student engagement perspective with today's learners. These fundamental precepts seem obvious, but are too often overlooked in K–12 ed-tech solutions, leading to frustration, disappointment and failed implementations. SAFARI Montage has experience with hundreds of successful implementations in the nation's most prestigious, largest and most technologically advanced school districts.

SAFARI Montage's core solutions are presently being used successfully in over 600 U.S. school districts comprising 11,000 schools. The company has long-term relationships and experience working with many leading districts across the United States, from Fulton County Schools, GA and Orange County Public Schools, FL to San Diego Unified School District, CA and Chicago Public Schools, IL. With a concerted focus on the user experience, systems interoperability, bandwidth efficiency and school district network infrastructure considerations, SAFARI Montage's reputation for solutions that work efficiently and reliably is unsurpassed in the K–12 ed-tech industry.

  • In 2015, SAFARI Montage collaborated with Orange County Public Schools (FL) and fellow IMS Global member Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) to create the IMS Thin Common Cartridge® standard. As a result, OCPS can now easily integrate HMH digital courseware along with content from other publishers within SAFARI Montage, providing teachers with a single interface to search and access all licensed and locally developed learning resources.
  • Newton Public Schools (MA), are using the power of the SAFARI Montage Learning Object Repository (LOR) to provide reliable and holistically-managed infrastructure for organizing, arching, indexing and delivering digital learning tools and media.

SAFARI Montage® has evolved into a multifaceted, K–12 instructional tool that leading school districts around the country are using to support digital instruction in mobile device environments.
